Florida civil litigation lawyers rely on a few basic Internet reference resources in almost every case. Some are free, others are not.

- Florida Rules of Procedure
- Florida Standard Jury Instructions (Civil Cases)
- Florida Administrative Code
- U.S. Code
- Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
- Google Scholar (excellent for accessing case law)
None of the above resources enable a researcher to conduct raw research through Keyword (Boolean) or Natural Language searches, methods that find pertinent cases and statutes through word searches. To my knowledge, all of the sites with this capability are pay sites, either requiring a subscription or a per use charge. Colleges and law schools sometimes offer free usage to its students, while most state Bar associations offer a service for free or at a discounted rate to its members. (The Florida Bar provides basic Fastcase to its members for free.)
